Family Care Psychology provides counselling services to individuals, couples, children, and families to residents of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland Country. Our practitioners are trauma-informed and trained in various therapeutic techniques such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive behavioral therapy, pragmatic/experiental methods, solution focused therapy, and creative/play based therapies. Family Care specializes in providing services to couples and families, as our practitioners are trained in the pragmatic/experiential method that incorporates neurobiology and the science of relationships into practical methods for altering the way individuals interact with each other and developing connectivity with loved ones to enhance their quality of relationships. Several of our practitioners also have experience supporting children with special needs working collaboratively with children and parents to promote a child’s social, emotional, adaptive, and executive functioning. Please visit our website to learn more about the unique services provided by each of our practitioners.
Whatever you are facing today, we welcome the opportunity to journey with you. Whether your pain is personal (depression, anxiety, confusion, hopelessness, discouragement, disappointment, loneliness, grief, or fear) and/or relational (loss of relationships or relational difficulties), we would be honored to be part of your healing process.
At Family Care, we offer flexibility in booking appointments, with therapists available days, evenings, or weekends. As we provide direct billing for some psychological services, we recommend contacting your benefits provider to determine the details of your coverage. We also provide services with the First Nations and Inuit Health Benefit program.
BILY Canada launched in February 2010. Since that time, we have heard from parents all across Alberta. Parents who are dealing with crisis situations such as drug and alcohol abuse, cutting and criminal activity. We also hear from parents who are just trying to take back control of their home. If you are one of those parents, we can help.
We are parents who have been in crisis situations and now through our own experience want to help others. Based on our 10 Steps to Success we can do just that.
We are not professionals, but through BILY we were able to survive the crisis type situations we have found ourselves in. BILY will give you the necessary tools to know that you 1) you are not alone 2) to take care of yourself and 3) to learn how to not feel guilty for the choices your child/teen/young adult children are making to name just a few of the steps.
The Program is Free. Please join us – realize that your child is not the only child out there that is making poor decisions and that you are not the worst parent in the world.
Meetings are every Thursday night in Parkland County starting May 4, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Please note that for new parents, Orientation is at 7:00 p.m.
Please contact Claudette Young (780) 245-2459 to register. (Excluding Holidays) MEETINGS ARE FREE of CHARGE
