As we all know there was a great event this past spring with a celebration at Horizon Stage recognizing 39 local Champions of Good Youth who contributed to our community.  Goodwill Ambassador and Olympian, Cheryl Bernard provided an inspiring presentation about achievement and resilience.

Congratulations to all the youth and those who recommended their recognition.

The Rotary Club of Spruce Grove in conjunction with the City of Spruce Grove and FCSS Youth Services has been able to mount the signed picture recognizing this event on the FCSS Youth Services Log Cabin.

It has all the youth’s signatures on it.

The Rotary Club of Spruce Grove will be having an official unveiling of the mounted picture during their regular meeting time.

On Thursday, Oct. 26th at 12:00 noon we will have an unveiling.  The official photo will be taken at 12:10 p.m.  We would like to have two of the youth members that were recognized at the event last year in the picture.

We understand that this is during the noon hour during the school hours.

If it is possible for you to attend and represent the Champions of Good please let me know.

And…The Rotary Club of Spruce Grove is hosting a community Appreciation Pancake Breakfast on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 28th.  At this event, there will be several presentations about the projects the local  Rotary Club is involved with.  The Champions of Good is one of these and will have time to show a short video and…have 2-3 youth make a few comments as to the benefits they experienced from volunteering in our community and being recognized as a Champion of Good.

Again…we are looking for 2-3 youth who would be willing to do this.  If you can attend and do this please let me know ASAP.

Thank you,

John Oldham
